## Audiovisual resources ##

The use of films for educational purposes is a very effective method because it produces a high degree of motivation and interest in students of any educational stage. Using films in the classroom fosters the learning of values and encourage personal initiative, at the same time that students learn content from different areas in a more dynamic way. Through audiovisual teaching resources, such as films and subsequent activities (worksheets, discussions or film forum), students will appreciate films and documentaries and learn content and values. Our approach is to create collective analysis of different movies, animated cartoons and documentaries that are based not just on the display itself, but especially in the development of film forums in which different conceptual, procedural and attitudinal contents are developed. Every film forum requires five elements: a public (in this case school or university), a preparation (which is intended ?, What means are available? , What movie to chose , how will be the preparation ?) a director or qualified moderator who introduces the film (geographic and environmental connections; historical, social, political and cultural context and another considerations as position of the film in the history of the cinema and artistic characteristics), the projection of the film and finally, the discussion about the movie. Teachers can use films and documentaries selected in this section of the blog for:

- Developing emotions in learners.

- Enhancing dialogue on social values.

- Designing school activities.

- Enlarging vocabulary.

- Promoting interaction among students through brainstorming and discussions.

- Learn civic values.

This blog is a tool, a repository of educational resources and therefore a platform from which we may design our classroom intervention. That is why we have selected a number of films and documentaries with a clear educational purpose. Among this selection, there are movies, such as Rango, El lince perdido (The missing lynx) -both animated-, The man who planted trees, La lengua de las mariposas (The Butterfly Tongue), etc., and documentaries as: An inconvenient truth, Earth, The story of stuff, etc. We intend to offer teaching-learning activities about the resources of the blog that will be designed and published shortly.
